4 days old

Mya was able to get out of the house yesterday and visit her friend Brianna prior to a doctors appointment. I included a new slideshow below. It's the first chance we've had to dress her up. We've had a lot of pediatrician and lab appointments over the past few days for Jaundice and weight loss (apparently this occurs in 25% of all newborns and is very normal). They've been drawing blood for periodic bilirubin tests just to keep an eye on the levels. We need to keep her exposed to indirect natural light and the pediatrician ordered a photo therapy device called a bili-blanket (pictured right) which delivered to our house last night. In addition, we had to supplement the breast feeding with formula, but as of this morning, we no longer have to use formula (the "good milk" is now flowing). We heard back from the latest lab report a few hours ago that showed a stable Jaundice score of 17.5 (and I guess anything below 20 is still ok). In addition, she had weight gain of 4 ounces over the past 24 hours and she's now up to 7lbs 10ounces. The pediatrician doesn't like to see a weight loss of more than 10% of body weight so I think we have that under control now. She doesn't have a problem eating or sleeping so we expect her weight to keep going up. And now for what everyone really wants to see, an updated slideshow of baby photos!:
