Good Bye GiGi

On October 1, 2010 Mommy told me that GiGi went to heaven. Heaven is up in the sky like the moon. Mommy said that now GiGi can see me whenever she wants. Mommy and Liam went back to Ohio for the funeral which was October 9th. I stayed home with Papa. We knew that GiGi was sick so Mommy, Liam, and I made a video for her to watch before she went to heaven. At the funeral Mommy sent a white balloon up in the sky for Liam and me. All the great grandchildren sent balloons up to heaven for GiGi. When Mommy came back from Ohio she told me so many stories about GiGi. GiGi grew up with Boston Terriers just like my Shelby dog. I liked looking at the pictures Mommy brought home. There was a picture of Mommy holding Uncle Matt in a white rocking chair and another one in a brown chair. Mommy told me stories about the rocking chair and how Great Grandpa would sit in the brown chair in the den at their old house and there was always a jar filled with gumdrops in that room. Mommy would pick out the orange ones. There was some pictures of Mommy and Grandpa on a big swing. Mommy said how much fun they all had swinging on the swing at GiGi's house. It sure did look like a lot of fun. Grandpa looked really funny with so much hair on his head. Mommy showed me a pewter figurine which was a girl with an easter bonnit. She told me how GiGi had a figurine for each grandchild that would sit on her piano. Mommy said how proud GiGi was of her family and to have 8 great grand children. That she always told Mommy how beautiful I was and how her grandchildren became such great parents. Mommy said one of her favorite memories was how excited GiGi was when she told her my name. I guess Mommy and Papa did not tell anyone what my name was except for GiGi. Mommy said that GiGi was thrilled that my middle name was Kathryn. Mommy said she had never heard so much excitement in GiGi's voice. Kathryn was GiGi's mom's name and my Mommy and Aunt Kathy were both named after her. GiGi said that her mom would be so proud that I was caring on the name. Mommy also said that GiGi was super excited when we found out that Liam was going to be a boy! GiGi was an extraordinary and amazing woman who lived each day of her 95 years with dignity and grace. She will be missed by us all but we are left with so many good memories of her that I am sure Mommy and the rest of my family will continue to tell. She was a true lady and I will try to live my life to make her proud. I was so fortunate of have you in my life. Good bye GiGi we love you and miss you. _MG_6093
